Self-care: How to put concept into practice!

If you notice, one of the terms that everyone has been using lately is self-care. Usually, in texts that tell us to take a moment and take care of ourselves, being away from the internet or making a face mask. But the truth is that self-care is all that and beyond.

Today I want to help you with some tips to put this “time to take care” into practice thinking a little bit beyond your beauty routine.

Review your lifestyle

Self-care is pure self-awareness. Before you begin any practice of taking better care of yourself, it is important that you understand what locks you in the way you live. Is it sleep that is never regulated? Is the diet not going well? The lack of time? This is the first step for you to start reevaluating what no longer suits you or needs to be changed.

And at this point, it is important that you also realize what you are doing or doing that brought you joy. Those little things, you know? Practices that you, for some reason, overlooked and sometimes misses, but don't even notice!

Self-care is also taking care of physical and emotional health.

Perhaps this is the most important point when it comes to self-care. It doesn't help you to take time to take care of your skin if you don't drink the right water or eat well. Or if you take time out for yourself but don't look fondly on your emotional side wondering if it needs more attention. It's taking care of your body as a whole, you know? Think of everything it needs to make you feel all right!

Clichés are also valid.

Self-care clichés are not bad, quite the contrary. Nothing beats getting home tired, grabbing a glass of wine and making your face mask to relax. I love that! It is a valid precaution that you have a better night and feel good about yourself.

And there are some clichés that are really needed, like drinking more water, sleeping well, exercising, eating better, learning to say no, looking at yourself with more affection… All this, simple and repetitive as it may be, will help you to feel better in everyday life. And it's important to always remember!

Do things that you really feel like doing and don't feel forced by other people's lifestyle

That word "self" is not a mistake! It's supposed to be a care that's yours alone. It's no use enrolling in a yoga class just because your favorite influencer does, if that's not the best exercise for you. You can't bring yourself a self-care routine that has nothing to do with you.

So, at the beginning of the text I talked about self-knowledge. For you to look at what you really like, what you need and care to include in your life. You can't waste this time thinking about what the other has been doing in theirs routine, right?

Self-care can be considered a buzz word, but nothing better than having this kind of “trend” in life. After all, the best you can do for yourself is take care of yourself all the time!
